Someone taking their museum exhibits out for a drive? This Civic was in shockingly mint condition.

‘77 according to bar.ca.gov
Looks like someone’s been spending money to keep it legal, its failed quite a few smog inspections, only to pass a short while later.

Another classic example of “only in California will you find this car”. I love seeing this all the time now. Forget the stupid Lambos and Mclarens I see reguarly, I am much more excited to see museum quality regular cars that are damn near extinct anywhere else. I think some of my favorites have been the Gen1 Prius’ in funky colors as well as weird stuff like the Honda Clarity and classic trucks still being used as full time work trucks.

Hmm, IIRC those don’t have cats, so there’s less to go wrong with them, emissions wise.

My mom had an ‘80 or ‘83 - I can’t remember which. It was a lot more fun to drive than my B-2000. It had more horsepower and better handling. She bought some cheap tires at Sam’s Club and was shocked when they wore out so fast. She didn’t realize they were Pirrellis.
My uncle and I replaced the clutch on it - twice. The first replacement was the wrong part and the throwout bearing slipped through the spring diaphram about a week later.
It was a great car which I both loved and hated.

Here’s a ‘76 Civic (Australian) with the inlets:
Looking at pictures it seems like there were ones with two inlets, one with a single big one, and ones with none.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

That moment you’re too distracted by a Civic and miss an S2K

There is a faculty member on campus who daily drives a Civic of that era (and that color). It isn’t as clean as that, but it still looks like a car not more than 10 or 15 years old in terms of condition.

I was in high school. It was an old green wagon with peeling paint. It was the epitome of uncool.
